The exhibition displays a wide selection taken from the Futurist heritage preserved at the Mart in Rovereto, tracing the evolutionary arc of Depero's artistic research from the 1910s to the 1950s, paying particular attention to themes linked to the table, food and the places of his consumption.
The exhibition itinerary begins in 1914, when Fortunato Depero met the futurist movement in Rome.
The "thirst for Futurism" accompanies the artist to Rovereto, where in 1919 he founded the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero.
In the 1920s, with the emergence of advertising art, Fortunato Depero inaugurated a happy collaboration with various companies, including Campari, contributing to the international success of the iconic aperitif.
After his American stay, in which the artist dedicated himself to decorating rooms and restaurants, Depero returned to Italy and dedicated himself to the theme of food.
The exhibition path ends in the 1950s through other advertising experiences and a series of documents taken from the artist's historical archive, including manuscripts, correspondence and printed material.
Exhibition created specifically for the spaces of the Specialized Refrigerating Station of Verona, in collaboration with the Mart, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto and with the University of Verona - Department of Culture and Civilization.
Curators Federico Zanoner and Luca Bochicchio.
