The Chamber of Commerce of Verona is hosting the traveling exhibition Cortina d'Ampezzo: the Two Olympics.
The exhibition is part of the Cultural Olympics program for Milan Cortina 2026, as a step towards the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milan Cortina 2026.
The "rebirth" Winter Olympics of 1956 and those of seventy years later – currently in preparation – are connected by a common thread of extraordinary natural beauties, sports spirit, tourism, and culture.
For the first time, they are told together in an exhibition that intertwines history and technology, tradition and future.
The exhibition, curated by architect Ugo Soragni, offers an evocative mix of immersive multimedia environments and historical objects: an original Olympic torch from 1956, a bob sled from the 1950s, posters, photographs, designs and models of the sports facilities and infrastructures created for the '56 Olympics, newsreels and period films from the Istituto Luce, which depict the tourist and fashionable Cortina and the protagonists of the first Olympics held at the foot of the Tofane.
The exhibition is free of charge and can be visited every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Event promoted by the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Cortina Foundation, Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, and Unioncamere del Veneto, in collaboration with Venicepromex
