Festa dei Bisi

This year, the traditional Sagra dei Bisi in Colognola ai Colli will be held in the various districts of the municipality: starting from Sunday, May 10th to Sunday, May 31st, every weekend you will be able to appreciate the typical Pisello Verdone Nano in a different location in the village.

• May 10: San Vittore
• May 15, 16, 17, 18: Strà
• May 16, 17: Monte
• May 16, 17: San Zeno
• May 22, 23, 24: San Zeno
• May 23, 24: Pieve
• May 31 : San Vittore

The main protagonist of the festival, which for years has combined agricultural tradition, food and wine, and entertainment, is undoubtedly the Verdone Nano, a round-shaped pea of bright green color that turns out to be the sweet fruit of the ancient experience developed in Colognola ai Colli in cultivating a plant that is extremely demanding in terms of both soil and climate. Indeed, the hills of Colognola ai Colli provide the ideal environment for this exquisite vegetable that manages to maintain its typical qualities of sweetness and tenderness.
The Verdone Nano pea is an excellent product thanks also to its versatility in the kitchen; there are numerous and diverse recipes that can be made with the Verdone Nano.

During the Sagra dei Bisi, you will be able to taste the most well-known and appreciated traditional dishes of Colognola ai Colli at the food and wine stands, such as "Lasagne coi Bisi," "Risi e Bisi," along with many other dishes always accompanied by peas that will satisfy every palate.
To complement the food and wine offerings, there will be the Soave DOC and Valpolicella DOC wines from local wineries.
