After the great success of "Happy Next", Simone Cristicchi continues to amaze the theater audience with a new project created in collaboration with the Centro Teatrale Bresciano, dedicated this time to Saint Francis.
The Roman artist, accompanied by unreleased songs written in collaboration with the singer-songwriter Amara, retraces the life of the “Saint of everyone” in the guise of Cencio, a wandering ragman and inventor of a language all his own.
Francesco was a revolutionary man, in love with life, who spoke to the birds and found beauty not only in men but also in animals, in the sun, in death, and in the earth. However, he was also a man with a troubled existence, consumed by doubts, a layman who learned by doing, perfected himself through encounters, and managed to attract a community, but not without raising suspicions among some of the people, including Cencio himself.
The central theme of the show is the fragile boundary between madness and sanity, which intertwines with other important aspects of Francesco's life, such as poverty, the search for perfect joy, universal spirituality, and the necessary utopia of a new humanity that can live in harmony with creation. Themes that, in the noise of the society we live in, become even more urgent and vivid.
Cristicchi presents a performance with high emotional intensity, which resonates deeply within us with the most profound questions and pushes us to seek a possible answer.
