Forty years after the historic concert in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna on June 21 and in Pellerina in Turin on July 3, 1984, the Musici di Guccini will make us relive the emotions of “Fra la via Emilia e il West,” one of the most iconic live albums in Italian singer-songwriter music.
The protagonists on stage of that unrepeatable event (memorable was the introduction given by the great Maestro Francesco Guccini), Flaco Biondini, Vince Tempera, Ellade Bandini, and Antonio Marangolo, bring to the stage of the Teatro Nuovo a show that intertwines music (with the original setlist of that concert), words, and memory, recounting not only that event but also what it represented for Bologna, for the world of singer-songwriters, and for an entire generation.
Enhancing the show, in the role of actor, disruptor, and (perhaps) singer, is Lodo Guenzi, now a celebrated film and theater actor and a well-known connoisseur of the Bologna scene and a fine scholar of Guccini’s work, for a show that will not only be a celebration but also a rediscovery and reinterpretation of a musical legacy.
An unmissable opportunity for those who lived through those years, for those who were there, for those who played that record repeatedly, and for those who want to discover the magic of an era when music could tell the world.
