Following the restoration of the ancient clock mechanism, originally installed in the main tower of the Castello Scaligero di Villafranca in 1890, the clock has returned to its original location.
Recovered and restored between May and June 2012 by the National Association of the Soldier, Section of Villafranca di Verona, the mechanism had been housed at the Nicolis Museum, where it remained for 13 years until November 24, 2025.
The ancient mechanism is now located along the exhibition halls inside the castle, where it can be admired by all visitors, along with the 19th-century painting of Christ, a work by Jacopo Tumicelli, originally positioned at the main entrance of the castle. The visit is included in the entrance ticket to the exhibition path of the Castle.
