The Roman Theater of Verona will host, for the first time from August 12 to 17, the American dance company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, a company known for being entirely composed of male dancers and for their hilarious and impeccable parodies of classical ballet.
Founded in 1974 in an "off-off-Broadway" venue by a group of dancers who enjoyed staging parodies of traditional ballets “en travesti”, the Trocks quickly gained international fame, and for nearly fifty years have been admired by audiences and critics alike for their originality and excellent artistic quality.
Through their tours, they have brought their art and delivered unforgettable moments to audiences in over 600 cities across 40 countries around the world. The most irreverent and subversive male dance company in the world arrives in Verona, capable as always of combining impeccable technique and uncontrollable comedy. The fun in their performances is not achieved by deforming ballet in a banal and crude way, but by affectionately, ironically, and intelligently highlighting the most iconic traits of classical ballet, the most common mishaps, and the hysteria of the most famous étoiles.
A show that celebrates dance with irreverence and talent, turning the stage into an explosion of fun and virtuosity.
