Michelangelo da Caravaggio – A Rebel Rock Musical

After the debut in June 2024 in Asti with a sold-out performance and very enthusiastic reviews, the new season of the musical "Michelangelo da Caravaggio - a Rebel Rock Musical" resumes with a one-off date in Verona on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Teatro Nuovo, produced by Golden Ticket Company.

"Michelangelo da Caravaggio - a Rebel Rock Musical" is an overwhelming show that celebrates the priceless legacy of the revolutionary Michelangelo Merisi, known as "Caravaggio", portrayed by Jacopo Siccardi, paying homage to his canvases rich in humanity and free from hypocrisy, along with the unstoppable force with which he challenged the Papal Rome of the 17th century, a nest of intrigues, contrasts, passions, jealousies, and unconfessable secrets.

Indissolubly linked to the tradition of Musical Theater, with 10 performers on stage and a live Rock Band, it features a distinctive Progressive Rock musical style, characterized by a Sound Design, with guitar participation by Tony De Gruttola, keyboards by Daniel Bestonzo and Enzo "Vince" Degiola, bass by Gualtiero Marangoni, drums by Ciro Lavarone, and sound engineer Fabrizio Argiolas. An engaging show that exalts the artistic and spiritual legacy of the painter, who depicts the poor as Saints and prostitutes as Madonnas, to tell an uncomfortable truth, showcasing his struggle against darkness and his constant desire for light.
