Rassegna Interregionale di Canto Popolare

At the Teatro Camploy, in honor of  Giorgio Totola, who passed away in 1987, the eighteenth edition of the  Theatrical Award  dedicated to the memory of the Veronese director and actor, who for over twenty years contributed to giving value and dignity to non-professional theater, returns.

A varied program, the result of a meticulous selection of performances that represent  contemporary Italian Authors.

The national festival is organized by the Municipality of Verona in collaboration with the 'Giorgio Totola' Company which oversees the artistic direction. 

The review opens Friday, March 20 with the performance "The Rebel-Peppino Impastato" by Giovanni Gentile, directed by the same, performed by the theater company  Penta Teatro from Pistoia.
It is followed by "In the Name of the Father" by Luigi Lunari, directed by Stefano Sandroni Thursday, April 2, performed by the crew La Corte dei Folli from Fassano-Cuneo.  
Friday, April 17 it will be the turn of the Taranto company Quanta Brava Gente with "Three Dads and a Baby" by Antonio Grosso, directed by Giovanni di Lonardo.
The following week, Friday, April 24, the Florentine crew I Giardini dell'Arte will perform the play by Grazia Verasani "From Medea", directed by Marco Lombardi.
The Festival will close Tuesday, April 28 with the awards ceremony and the out-of-competition performance based on the famous novel by Carlo Collodi "Pinocchio, Story of a Puppet" directed by Roberto Totola and presented by the theater company Aias Verona Fondera Aperta Ets Punto in Movimento.
