Within the cycle of events titled Theodoric and Verona 526 AD - 2026, a special conference by Claudio Azzara from the University of Salerno.
Hosted at the prestigious venue of the Academy of Agriculture, Sciences, and Letters of Verona, the conference focuses on the figure of Theodoric of Verona, a prominent figure of the early and late Middle Ages in Germany and sovereign of the first true Roman-barbarian kingdom.
Theodoric of Verona is the legendary transfiguration of the Ostrogoth king Theodoric the Great (454-526), who left significant traces of his presence in Verona, as reminded to us by, among others, The Legend of Theodoric by Giosuè Carducci (1885) and a bas-relief on the façade of the Basilica of San Zeno.
Start at 5:00 PM
