The history of the world is often marked by despots, powerful figures, and even whole societies that have sought (and still seek) to hinder free thinking, applying censorship, controlling language, or acting in more insidious ways to make freedom an elusive concept. And it is especially women who are targeted and sidelined precisely for being women.

The lawyer and activist Cathy La Torre therefore chooses to be the spokesperson for all those extraordinary women that history has deliberately ignored or erased, using her direct, brilliant, and ironic style to celebrate their struggles and achievements, to inspire and speak to the heart and conscience of everyone.
