Veronetta Contemporanea

The new edition of the event “Veronetta Contemporanea” returns: from June 9 to 18 at the Polo Santa Marta, art, cinema, dialogues, music, poetry, and performances featuring contemporary protagonists will take center stage.

Veronetta Contemporanea Festival aims to be, on one hand, a “showcase” of possible interpretations of contemporary languages through musical, performative, cinematic events, both local and national, as well as moments of reflection and dialogue; on the other hand, it intends to serve as an opportunity for engaging the various components of the neighborhood and for bringing the entire city to connect with the neighborhood itself.

The program, particularly rich and varied, aims to involve different and active realities in the neighborhood, from imagining new urban spaces to the necessity of asserting and protecting the right to information and free expression. Of particular interest is the Veranotte – Immaginazioni Convergenti, a wandering performance made of sounds, voices, and narratives that will accompany the audience from Palazzo Bocca Trezza to Piazza Santa Toscana, reclaiming the memories and future visions of the neighborhood through the stories of those who live it daily.

The cultural project is promoted by the University of Verona together with the Philharmonic Academy, the Municipality of Verona, ESU, and in collaboration with AGSM-AIM.
