On the occasion of the World Poetry Day, the World Academy of Poetry presents two days of events at the conference room of the Capitular Library of Verona.
On March 20th, starting at 5:30 PM, we will attend a meeting on the theme "Enterprise and the word that generates future" as a moment of reflection and sharing dedicated to the role of poetry in contemporary society, featuring poetry readings, critical interventions, and a dialogue among authors, cultural institutions, and businesses, with the participation of, among others, Paolo Lagazzi, Lorenzo Mullon, Davide Rondoni, Marco Amore. The conference is promoted by the World Academy of Poetry, Confindustria Veneto, Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation.
On March 21, 2026, starting at 4:30 PM, a round table will take place with Luigina Mortari, Gianfranco Lauretano, Davide Rondoni, and Paolo Lagazzi. From 5:30 PM, the awards for the Catullus Prize will be presented, featuring readings by poets: Gabriella Sica (Italy), Mourad El Kadiri (President of the House of Poetry, Morocco), and Pierluigi Sabatini (Catullus Prize for Young Poets). This will be followed by a conference with representatives from the poetry world, both in person and connected remotely, titled "Where is poetry going today?". A poetry reading will close the event.
All events are sponsored by the Municipality of Verona.
