The tour starts from our PaguStore, in Via della Valverde 75, at 9.00 am, and the first stop will be the Caffè Roen roasting shop. Wrapped in the enveloping scents of roasted beans, we will reveal the secrets of authentic Italian Espresso, and we will taste at least 2 blends, discovering our favorite. A true Italian start! The morning will continue with a stop at a local winery in Valpolicella, where they will tell us the history of the company and the very particular process for the production of Amarone della Valpolicella. This will be followed by a moment of tasting of at least 4 wines (Amarone included), accompanied by some appetizers.

Some reviews:
My partner and I did the Espresso & Amarone tour in June 2024. It was fun, interesting, and well-paced! It was nice to mix it up with half espresso/half wine instead of multiple wineries/vineyards. Our driver and guides were all helpful, personable and informative. We started from Verona, drove outside the city (beautiful drive!) to an espresso roaster where we did a tour and tasting, then drove to a winery for a tour and tasting. The roasting tour was very cool! I'd highly recommend if you're interested in learning a little more about different kinds of espresso and want to mix something else in with a wine tour. We learned about how they source beans and saw the roasting & packaging process happening live. We then tried two different espresso roasts, learned about how to get a good espresso pull and what to look for in a good espresso, and talked through the different tasting notes. The wine tasting was great and as expected. We did a tour of the winery first and then tried 5 different wines while sitting on a covered outdoor patio. They had crackers & cheese for us as well. My only wish is that we would've got to walk around the vineyard a little!

I booked this tour because I love both coffee and red wine so it was the perfect combination! We were lucky to be the only people joining that day so this was transformed into a private tour which was even better! I loved the deep dive into the world of expresso, seeing the roasting process and having the chance to ask many questions. The tasting has been mind blowing and the coffee we bought is something we already enjoy at home daily. Amazing! The wine tasting has been really nice, a lovely story of the winery and a lovely guide. Ana drove us around and has been really nice, kind and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our time together. I would certainly recommend it - the fact that the tour was focused on just two important things has been great as you coild actually take your time to enjoy rather than being rushed from one place to another.

There was just the four of us on the tour that was ideal as it meant that things went at our pace. In hindsight, a bit less time on coffee and more time at the winery would have been a better balance. In both places, it would have been good to have a small snack as part of the tasting. The big plus is that these are small businesses, and the tour is with the owner - they are therefore very passionate about what they do. To be honest, the guide was really just a driver, and added nothing to what we learned from the businesses. Therefore, in theory you could hire a car and go and find these places yourself - that was not our preference as we all enjoyed the wine tasting, but then th tour should make it clear that it is visits with a driver, not a guided tour. We enjoyed it very much in any case.
