Try Amarone at 2 wineries on this half-day (4 ½ hours) tour! We will leave Verona at 2.00 pm and take you to Valpolicella to discover all the secrets of our traditional red wines. Along the wine route, you will visit two different wineries. Here you can taste 4 of DOC and DOCG wines, such as Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto, with their different styles. During this tour you will be able to learn about Amarone and its winemaking process directly from the producers and discover the famous drying method. For this tour we always choose 2 wineries that are very different in style and size, so that we can compare them and appreciate the variety of productions that can be found in this area. Accompanying you will always be the wonderful scenery of our hills and their vineyards, spectacular in every season of the year.
Some reviews:
Our tour was fabulous! We were 2 couples and 2 adult children for a total of 6. Our guide Roberto was very engaging and knowledgeable about history of the Valpolicella wine region and the wineries we were going to visit. We were staying in Central Verona so Pagus tour office was easy to get to. Having transportation provided by Pagus to the wineries was a real plus. My husband and I are big fans of Amarone wine and cautious about which 2 wineries we would be visiting since they were not well known labels in the United States. Both wineries had great tours and excellent wines! One cellar was medium sized and the other small. We all bought some wine to ship home via Pagus. The total of 8 person tour was the perfect size and we met a lovely couple from England. I would highly recommend this tour for both experienced wine lovers and novices new to wine tasting!

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable wine tour with Pagus. Our guide and driver was Roberto and he was outstanding. There were just the two of us and felt that the wineries, one medium sized and one small and new, were a perfect balance. We received close up experiences at both locations. The wines were excellent and we purchased wine at both locations. At the newer winery we met the owner, who was an excellent host and shared his enthusiasm. If you enjoy Amarone take this tour! If you do not know about Amarone, but enjoy red wines, you need this experience.

Our guide, Roberto, from Pagus was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable and had great energy. The two wineries we visited were lovely and both provided a different perspective on the local home-grown wines. The Amarone / Valpolicella wines tasted delicious - so much so, we ended up buying a couple of bottles from each! Would definitely recommend this trip to our friends and family.
