The construction of the Church of San Pietro Apostolo began in 1831 by Don Giovanni Battista Arcozzi.
In neoclassical style, the Church features a façade with a pediment supported by four tuff columns. The tympanum displays a bas-relief decoration depicting two angels holding a cross. The Holy Apostles Peter and Matthias, patrons of Caldiero to whom the Church is dedicated, are represented in the two statues located in the niches on either side of the portal.
The interior consists of a single nave where the main altar and the organ are located. On either side of the apse, there are two chapels. To the right of the entrance is the Baptistery from 1610, likely taken from the previous parish church. On the side walls, there are four minor altars, one of which, that of the Sacred Heart, features a 16th-century altarpiece by Brusasorzi. Two other paintings are found in the side chapels: in the right chapel, the Sorrowful Virgin, from 1637 signed by Battista Barchus, and in the left chapel, the Madonna of the Rosary.
Two large paintings dominate the Church by S. Zenatello, a Veronese painter residing in Caldiero from 1924 to 1965. The central one, located on the ceiling, represents the Assumption, while that on the apse canopy depicts the Transfiguration. A third painting by the same artist is above the confessional, where the pulpit used to be. Above the main door, there is a painting by Del Pitico entitled Expulsion of the Profaners from the Temple, and around the lower part of the Church are scenes from the life of Saint Peter.
