The current building, in neoclassical style, dates back to the 19th century.
The church has a neoclassical facade facing west, divided into three parts by Corinthian pilasters and adorned with a decorated pediment. The floor plan consists of a single rectangular hall, with a quadrangular presbytery raised by three steps, ending in a semicircular apse. Along the sides of the hall, four semi-chapels house the altar of St. John Bosco and the altar of the Madonna on the northern side, the altar of the Virgin and the altar of the Sacred Heart on the opposite side.
The internal facades are marked by Corinthian pilasters decorated with false flutes, upon which rests the high molded entablature with a decorative frieze that unifies the overall composition. The presbytery, introduced by a triumphal arch with a full curve, is spatially defined by four projecting Corinthian semi-pilasters.
The hall is covered by a lowered barrel vault, decorated in the center with a tempera painting depicting the Assumption of the Madonna. The presbytery is topped by a dome featuring tempera paintings representing God the Father in the center, surrounded by a series of Saints within drawn frames; in the pendants of the arches, the four Evangelists are depicted, and the apse area is concluded with a spherical semi-dome on which is painted “Christ in throne with Saints.” It has a two-sloped roof with a supporting wooden structure and a concrete tile covering.
The flooring is made of polychrome marbles.
