Osteria Del Mare

The Osteria del Mare is a historic establishment within the walls of the Scaliger castle of Soave.

In 1883, Alberto Bolla founded the BOLLA winery in Soave.

As a child, he developed a passion for wine, spending much time in the cellar of the osteria "Al Gambero," owned by his parents Abele and Giulia, until he decided to start selling the local white wine to the osterias of Soave. The history of the Bolla winery is the story of a family that revolutionized the wine market in the last century, becoming one of the most significant wine companies in Italy at an international level.

Originally a inn, with a few rooms on the upper floor, in the early '900 it was sold to the Biave family.

In 1975, the old stables were renovated, giving rise to the Locanda al Gambero.

In the 2000s, after a renovation, the building was divided, thus creating the Locanda al Gambero on one side and Osteria La Scala on the other.

In 2023, Mauro Pietro Colla took the reins of this ancient building, converting Osteria LA SCALA into Osteria del Mare and preserving the history and tradition of the Antica Locanda al Gambero.

Today, you can find 2 establishments in the same building with a 100% Fish Menu at Osteria del Mare and a 100% Meat Menu at the Antica Locanda al Gambero.
