Fieracavalli, the Centuries-Old Horse Fair
- REDAZIONALE
For centuries, Verona has set the standard for horse breeding and the equestrian equipment market; the first fair ground for horses, mules and donkeys dates as far back as 1772. This was the beginning of what was to become Fieracavalli, which was first held in 1898.
Today, this trade fair is a global event which has moved beyond the simple buying and selling horses and equestrian equipment. It has become an event which celebrates the beauty and nobility of horses and attracts both industry professionals and horse lovers. So if you are wondering if you can take your children along and just have a look around, the answer is yes! You can watch competitions and exciting evening shows, as well as buy clothing and accessories for horse riding.
What to see at Fieracavalli
As I was saying, the fair is devoted to all aspects of horses and equestrianism, including equestrian tourism. There is a chance to get the wild west experience with a horse and country dancing show, as well as other shows involving horses which will take your breath away. For people who are more interested in the horses themselves, this is the place to come to see 2,400 horses, with more than 60 breeds from 25 countries. Lastly, there are lots of themed workshops for children, where they can learn how to approach these noble animals, getting the chance to stroke horses and ponies and having fun with picture painting
