Seven meetings, seven concerts, an exhibition, a dance workshop. From June 12 to 14, 2026, in Verona, the Africae Festival returns, immersing in reflections and sounds from Africa and beyond.
Now in its third edition, for three days values of inclusion and interaction will be promoted with the participation of great guests including Jean-Leonard Touadi, academic lecturer and Italian deputy; Marco Aime, anthropologist and Africanist; Ian Brennan, California producer, and Leila Belhadj Mohamed, journalist specialized in migration, geopolitics, and digital rights.
The musical moments, offered by musical groups from all over Italy, are united by an engaging groove and a mix of tradition and modernity.
There is also space for visual arts with the exhibition Generation of displacement, featuring works by Cupa, which explore childhood traumatized by conflict in Sudan (exhibition open until July 24).
Surrounding the cultural moments is the opportunity to savor the typical specialties of Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Guinea Conakry, and Morocco, as well as the strong dishes of traditional Veronese cuisine.
The event is organized by Nigrizia, African Museum and Nigrizia Foundation, in collaboration with Afrobrix Brescia and with the contribution and sponsorship of the Municipality of Verona.
