Archaeological guided tour of the Arena

The Civic Museums of Verona, in collaboration with Spazio Aster and the Educational Office of the Civic Museums, are organizing extraordinary archaeological visits to the Arena Amphitheater until July 25, the highlight of Verona's Roman cultural heritage.

The Roman amphitheater of Verona, unique in northern Italy for its state of preservation, represents a historical and cultural symbol of the city: let’s closely examine the construction and architectural techniques used by the Romans as well as the urban context in which the Arena is situated. We will explore the socio-political implications of the gladiatorial games, the role of these events in Roman society, and their symbolic meaning. An opportunity to understand the complex interplay between function, monument, and civic identity over the centuries.
