2026 edition of the cultural initiative by the Department of Decentralization "Storytellers in the Neighborhoods," organized in collaboration with the Nonviolent Movement A.P.S. and all the Districts, which this year presents Bartoldo, a fun Recital performed in the form of Theater-Song by artists Giuliana Bergamaschi (singing), Mauro Dal Fior (narrating voice), Claudio Moro (guitar).
Based on the poem by Tolo Da Re, composed of rhymed quartets divided into Songs, or rather... into “Cantade.” In composing it, Tolo was inspired by "The Adventures of Bertoldo," a work by Giulio Cesare Croce, a Bolognese poet from the 1500s.
The tragicomic adventures of the mountaineer Bertoldo are told in rhyme, as he descends from the Val d’Illasi to Verona to see with his own eyes the castle of King Alboino, which was much talked about in his area, but he will have to overcome various trials before he can return, riding his old nag, to his beloved Val d’Illasi.
All of this is well-seasoned with songs from the popular tradition (but not only) that translate and set to music the amusing scenes of the poem.
