On Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 9.00 p.m., at the Church of San Bernardino, the Choir of the Conservatorio di Verona, conducted by Paolo De Zen, presents Tue so' le laudi, an event held in the context of the celebrations for the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis (1226 - 2026).
The concert will begin with several ecclesiastical pieces, including the Canzon prima by Giovanni Battista Fasolo (circa 1598-approximately 1680), the Audit in Evangelium by Tommaso Graziani (1553-1634), and the Exsultate justi by Ludovico Grossi da Viadana (circa 1560-circa 1627).
Following this will be the organ performance of the Elevazione in D minor by Davide da Bergamo (Felice Moretti, 1791-1863), Il Cantico delle Creature by Domenico Maria Stella (1881-1956), and the Memoria Transitus Sanctis Patris nostri Francisci by Terenzio Zardini (1923-2000).
The two musical moments will be interspersed with a conference by Fr. Lorenzo Turchi (Pontificia Università Antonianum) titled The Art of Preaching of St. Bernardino of Siena: in Verona and in Italy.
The event aims to introduce a wide audience to a series of music by Franciscan composers in a place - the Church of San Bernardino in Verona - where the Friars Minor Observants settled in the mid-15th century.
