The Veronese Theatre Summer returns to fill the Roman Theatre with great Italian and international music.
As part of the “musical contaminations” review, one of the symbol voices of fado, the popular Portuguese music, and of world music will take the stage: the pianist, composer, and performer Dulce Pontes.
Her hit Canção do Mar, released worldwide in 1993, established her as a renewer of fado, earning her the recognition as the best heir of the great Amália Rodrigues.
Her incredible artistic abilities, classical training, and cultural awareness have led her to perform around the world and collaborate with the greatest world-renowned artists.
Special was her meeting with Ennio Morricone, with whom she forged an intense friendship and a professional relationship that led to the creation of the album Focus in 2003, in addition to world tours on the most prestigious stages.
Accompanied by an exceptional quintet, Dulce Pontes will present some of the most iconic songs from her repertoire (O Primeiro Canto, Morricone...) and others from her latest album Perfil.
Once again, the stage of the Roman Theatre becomes a meeting place for cultures, generations, and styles, offering emotions and surprises to those who love music in all its forms.
