Every year in Molina, the New Honey Fair, which is held on the first Sunday of September, brings together representatives of local beekeeping associations to assess the situation and engage the public with the beautiful market of New Honey and local food and handcrafted products.
The Municipality of Fumane, of which Molina is a part, has become a "Bee-Friendly Municipality" and has joined the awareness campaign "CooBeeRation Bees as Common Good." The project represents a necessary push to reverse the trend of bee decline and to promote a path of protection and enhancement of beekeeping, starting from the Mediterranean area and then extending to other macro regions at an international level.
Today in Molina, home of the Apiary, there are around one hundred hives managed by about ten hobbyist beekeepers; the Pro Loco of Molina owns 8 hives located in the social apiary and run by two "founding members" and four new trainees.
Starting at 9.00 a.m., the new honey market will open alongside local small food producers and hobbyist artisans, while from 10.30 a.m.
At 10.30 a.m., in the town square, there will be a conference dedicated to the world of bees,.
In the afternoon, at 3.00 p.m., enthusiasts will have the chance to experience something truly special by participating in the guided tasting "From Flower to Glass: The Surprising World of Mead," led by Honey Sommelier Daniela Begnini.
