Grenze - Arsenali Fotografici

From September 19 to October 21, 2025, the appointment with "Grenze - Festival of Contemporary and International Photography" returns, now in its eighth edition.

The tried-and-true formula is strongly focused on international protagonists with artists from all over the world; in addition to exhibitions, training, workshops, and labs.

The theme of the edition that opens on September 19 is “Anfällig”: Transient, delicate, vulnerable.

An existence weakened by external difficulties and the unpredictability of events. Instead of hiding, as often happens, the vulnerability inherent in people, the festival's concept aims to highlight our most fragile side. Because our daily life rests on shaky foundations built on a thin balance of challenges and threats. At any moment, everything can fall apart and crumble, and it is up to us to rise again each day, finding the strength to start over.

The main exhibition venues will be Il Meccanico, Fondazione Spazio Vitale, Urban, and Bastione delle Maddalene.

The artistic direction of the festival is entrusted to Simone Azzoni, professor and art critic, and Francesca Marra, photographer and educator, with the support of a team of scholars, students, and photography enthusiasts.
