From June 12 to September 12, 2026, for a total of thirteen performances, the 104th Arena di Verona Opera Festival presents La Traviata, returning to the Arena in a new production that will bring to Verona a French icon: the Moulin Rouge.
An original and aesthetically impactful reading, with the signature of Scottish director Paul Curran, which transports the audience to early 1900s Paris, a meeting place of artistic and intellectual fervor, with an accurate historical reconstruction that will not renounce spectacularity.
The three-act opera by Giuseppe Verdi, with a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, is set in the bohemian Paris of the late 1800s and tells the love story between the worldly woman Violetta Valery and Alfredo Germont. Under pressure from Alfredo's father, Giorgio, and with no way out, the woman writes a heartfelt letter to Alfredo explaining her longing for beloved Paris. Alfredo, enraged, swears at her in front of everyone, throwing money at her feet. Once he learns the truth, the man rushes to ask her forgiveness, but she, suffering from tuberculosis, after seeing him for the last time, dies.

SHOW INFORMATION:
To ensure proper management of entries and avoid delays during the evening, spectators are required to arrive at the Arena at least one hour before the show start time.
The gates open two hours before the show starts.
There is no mandatory dress code. Elegant attire is preferred in the audience, and for men shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops are not allowed.
It is possible to enter with a small backpack and a collapsible or small-sized umbrella (not having sharp points). It is prohibited to bring luggage, trolleys, bags, backpacks, sacks, or other bulky containers (over 17 liters). If seated in the stands, you may bring a cushion from home or purchase one at the Arena from the staff on duty.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the Arena. Additionally, plastic bottles larger than 0.5 liters and any other glass or plastic bottles, containers, or objects, and any other blunt objects that may cause harm to oneself or others are prohibited.
Should weather conditions prevent the regular execution of the show, Fondazione Arena di Verona may postpone the start time of the performance by up to 150 minutes. In the event of a definitive suspension of the show after it has started, there will be no right to a ticket refund. Please refer to the regulations for further information.
