Verona dresses up to celebrate Epiphany, in the spirit of tradition and innovation.
The goal of the event is to recover the original meaning of Epiphany as a time of transition, not only religious but also collective.
The day's program begins at 09:30 in Piazza San Zeno with the Vigil's Befana and the presentation of the Carnival masks at 11:00.
At 11:00 at Casa Verona (Arsenale, pavilion 20) there will be “Happyfania”, the true story of the Befana brought to life through music, play, and participation, for both young and old.
The festive afternoon opens at 14:30 with the arrival of the Three Kings in Piazza Bra. From 15:00, with the Stalker, the audience becomes the protagonist of “Steli”: the entire community will create a shared installation, a symbol of creativity and unity. Following this, an evocative game of chairs will then form a large pyre that will be set ablaze, as a symbolic rite of renewal.
As evening falls, there will be more magic with Quidam: seven French performers will conjure imposing white horses about four meters high from nothing, luminous and dreamlike figures, bearers of good omen for the new year. In a captivating parade, these creatures will lead the audience through dances, movements, and paths within the square, transforming it into an enchanted space.
The show is free of charge.
