At the Teatro Nuovo in Verona, Saturday, December 20 at 8:30 PM, the renowned oratorio Messiah, performed by the Settenovecento Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ecclesia Nova Choir, conducted by Matteo Valbusa, adapted from Messiah HWV 56 – Oratorio in three parts for solos, choir, and orchestra by Georg Friedrich Händel (1685 – 1759)/orchestration by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791).
The German composer wrote his most famous oratorio in London in 1741 to a text by Charles Jennens from the Bible, subsequently signing numerous adaptations for performance needs. However, there are also arrangements by other musicians: the most notable was made by Mozart in 1789.
The soloist voices are those of Anna Piroli (soprano), Giulia Beatini (alto), Blagoj Nacoski (tenor), and Enrico Totola (bass).
The ticket prices for the concert “Messiah” are €10 and €5. The audience is given the opportunity to choose, with a critical spirit, how much to pay for the ticket. The concert lasts 3 hours, including 2 breaks of 15 minutes each.
