Palazzo Pompei hosts a traveling photographic exhibition that leads visitors to the discovery of an invisible world.
Through images from research centers across Europe, it is possible to explore the universe of microorganisms, microscopic forms of life invisible to the naked eye and often known only to specialists.
Present in waters, soils, foods, and beverages, but also on and within the human body, microorganisms are silent protagonists of daily life and major contemporary challenges.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to closely understand the extraordinary biodiversity, beauty, and peculiarities of viruses, bacteria and archaea, microalgae, yeasts, filamentous fungi and symbioses, which are increasingly central to the themes of circular bioeconomy, sustainability, and climate change.
A surprising experience to observe what normally escapes our view and discover how fundamental the microscopic world is for life on our planet.
The project is conceived by the University of Turin in collaboration with the European Culture Collections’ Organization and is set up at Palazzo Pompei thanks to the collaboration between the Civic Museums of Verona - Natural History Museum and the Department of Biotechnology of the University of Verona.
During the exhibition's opening period, guided tours are scheduled by reservation, included in the museum entrance ticket.
Entrance to the exhibition is included in the entrance ticket to the Natural History Museum.
