Mozart a Verona

The month of January in Verona is traditionally dedicated to the musical genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to remember the deep and inseparable bond that has formed between the German composer and the city of Verona.

This year, the festival, now in its seventh edition, offers a rich program consisting of thirty-six events.

This year, the artistic offerings are renewed with proposals of cinema, dance, cultural events, youth events, concerts, operas, and prose: a month of events to celebrate the extraordinary talent of the genius from Salzburg, who found recognition, fame, and ambition in Verona.

The 2026 edition of the festival takes on a special significance, in memory of a often forgotten but central figure in the life of the Austrian composer: Maria Anna Mozart, affectionately called "Nannerl," elder sister and formative companion of Wolfgang.  
In this new edition, a unique space will be dedicated to the female world, inviting reflection on the fundamental role of women in the artistic and musical landscape, both past and present.

The inauguration will traditionally take place in the Maffeiana Hall of the Philharmonic Theater, the site of Mozart's first Italian performances, where he performed in January 1770.

The festival acts as a spokesperson for a broad and inclusive narrative, offering a plurality of languages and expressive forms to tell stories of creativity, strength, and innovation.
