Musical October

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the annual appointment with the Musical October - Terenzio Zardini Award begins, which celebrates its seventeenth year this year.

The first event is dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, on the eighth centenary of his death. Through the narration of Alessandro Anderloni, the figure of the Poor Man of Assisi is placed within the grand architecture of the Divine Comedy, following Dante’s cosmology and the stages of the otherworldly journey. With his direct, lively, and engaging style, Anderloni leads the audience to Canto XI of Paradise, dedicated to the figure of Francis.

The second event, on Sunday, October 11, titled FROM TOCCATE TO ROMANTIC DREAMS, will feature organist Luca Maresca and the vocal ensemble Il Bequadro, directed by Giuseppe Manzini, in a musical journey through different epochs and languages.

The third event, on Sunday, October 18, will be entrusted to organist Alberto Barbetta, featuring METAMORPHOSIS OF SOUNDS: TWO INSTRUMENTS, FOUR CENTURIES OF MUSIC, a journey to explore the evolution of music for organ through four centuries of history.

Closing the 17th edition on October 25 will be the “Gaetano Zinetti” Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Marco Morelato, with soloists Ismaele Gatti, Carlo Lazari, Matteo Marzaro, Martina Lazzarini, Francesco Ferrarini, and Leonardo Bruschetta, in a concert titled VENETIAN LIGHT, GERMAN ARCHITECTURE, dedicated to the dialogue and encounter between two great European musical traditions.

The historic Church of San Bernardino once again confirms its status as an ideal place for a journey that unites music, culture, and spirituality.
