Oltre la forma - Marcello Giusti

The Massella Gallery, in the historic center of Verona, hosts the exhibition titled "Beyond the Form", by the Veronese painter Marcello Giusti, curated by Licia Massella.

Marcello Giusti was born in Verona in 1997.
In 2016, he graduated with a diploma in figurative arts from the Nani-Boccioni Artistic High School in Verona, developing his own personal painting language based on clear formal and chromatic contrasts.
He won the first prize of the painting competition “Vorìa piturar Verona” in 2020.

His first solo exhibition at Galleria Massella is in May 2021: “Views. Between Reality and Dream.”

The exhibition Beyond the Form presents a series of oil paintings depicting imaginary views, simultaneously classic and mystical compositions.
Yellow, sky-blue, and blue colors, fiery shades, solid and fluid shapes embrace imposing classical architectures; vegetation and water surround and support them, tangible, evanescent, and provocative forms: a narrative of air, water, earth, and fire that the artist's images implicitly declare in the balanced and triangular compositions.
Different, between one canvas and another, are the actions and interactions of the contrasting elements: the clouds remain distant, dense, calm and threatening at the same time, or they expand until they touch and transform the vegetation; it, motionless and hieratic, becomes dense and shapeless and generates unsuspected, unsettling, and fantastic shadows.
The architectural structures appear solemn and austere or take on the randomness of the clouds and appear as bizarre ruins, permeated by vegetation.
