Opera sotto le stelle

On Wednesday, July 1st, the Motta Park in San Bonifacio will host “Opera under the Stars,” a new event of the Profumo d’Opera Festival, a project that has established itself as one of the most significant initiatives for the enhancement of the bond between the territory of San Bonifacio and Italian melodrama.

San Bonifacio has a privileged relationship with Verdi and his music: Verdi's first opera was indeed “Oberto, Count of San Bonifacio.” In the places where the protagonists of Oberto lived, on the hill where the castle of the Counts of San Bonifacio once stood, an event inspired by the great lyric is staged every year thanks to the Profumo d'Opera Festival.

This year, the evening will feature some of the most famous Verdi scenes inspired by the theme of magic and enchantment, in a suggestive journey through one of Verdi's most beloved themes. The concert will star Sara Volpato (soprano), Weiyi Lu (mezzo-soprano), Chaewoong Ye (bass), coordinated by soprano Silvia Dalla Benetta and accompanied on piano by Claudia Zucconi.
