Opera under the stars

On the occasion of the International Music Day, it is possible to fully experience opera even outside the Arena, in the neighborhoods of the city.

Thanks to special large screens, it will be possible to watch the new production of Nabucco, a version curated by Stefano Poda that makes the staging its central focus: a spectacular bridge between past and present, between myth and technology.

The opera will be projected at the Park of Santa Marta (Veronetta), Dall'Oca Bianca Park (Borgo Nuovo), San Giacomo Park (Borgo Roma), Cantori Veronesi Park (Borgo Santa Croce), and in Piazza del Popolo (San Michele Extra).

Introducing the projection of Nabucco will be two authoritative voices from the world of opera: Fabio Sartorelli, a teacher and musicologist, and Davide Annachini, a journalist and music critic. Thanks to them, the Veronese audience will be able to discover the true story behind the creation of Nabucco, the plot of the opera, the secrets of its music, the characteristics of the characters, the particularities of the voices on stage, and some insights into the brand new show by Stefano Poda.

The proposal, free of charge and accessible without reservation, aims to make opera more accessible and widespread, directly involving the local community.

The initiative "Opera sotto le Stelle" is an event organized by the City of Verona and the Arena Foundation, in collaboration with RAI Cultura.
