Paolo Cevoli - The Penultimate Dinner

Paolo Cevoli in this new monologue tells the story of Paulus Simplicius Marone, who has been granted a special permit to return to earth to recount how the Last Supper really unfolded.

The text, taken from the theatrical monologue that has been sold out everywhere for months, reveals his humble origins in Ariminum, his adoption by a noble family that will take him to Rome, where he can learn the culinary art at the school of Apicius, the most famous chef of antiquity. Everything goes smoothly until Paulus is forced to flee to the most distant and desolate land of the empire: Palestine. Thus, the Romagnolo cook finds himself in Cana while two newlyweds are celebrating their wedding.

To convince them to assign him the task, he offers his services at a low cost, perhaps saving on wine. But then the unexpected happens. The miracle of Jesus. Paulus's eyes meet those of the Master. From that moment on, his life will never be the same again… until his last supper.

Cevoli lives in Bologna with his family, and his "official" job is a consultant in the catering sector, but the general public knows and appreciates him also thanks to his strongly characterized characters, the “macchiette” with Romagnolo traits like Councillor Cangini and entrepreneur Teddi Casadey.
