The real story of St. Lucia

'It's December 13 many, many years ago. In a province of the great Roman Empire a special little girl was born - her name was Lucia.'

Thus begins the show created by Teatro Modus, that traces Lucia’s life first on earth, then in Heaven and finally in the myth and collective imagination that tradition gives us, so much celebrated in Verona but which also embraces other areas as far as Sweden.

The show tells, fascinates and enchants. But it will also make children (and parents!) think about what the gifts St. Lucia will bring, raising awareness about conscious, thoughtful, non-consumerist choices.

In the show there will be no Saint Lucia, but Grandma Ida, a dear friend of St. Lucia's, who will tell her story and recite poems and threads. Grandma Ida will be accompanied on the stage by Pennelletto who, while she narrates, armed with a palette and brush, will paint on the easel the characters and things narrated and then show them to the audience according to the time of the narration.
