On October 15th, the Giro del Veneto arrives in Verona in a renewed version, a professional men's cycling race.
The cyclists will depart from Vicenza and, once they arrive in Verona, will complete the "Teofilo Sanson" circuit five times, for a total of 161.20 km.
The cyclists, who set off in the morning from Vicenza, will enter the city from the south by taking via Palazzina, via San Giovanni Lupatoto, via Campagnol di Tombetta, viale Piave, and then enter the circuit on Corso Porta Nuova. The circuit will then continue on via Roma, Corso Cavour, via Diaz, Ponte della Vittoria, Lungadige Matteotti, viale D’Annunzio, via Nievo, via Marsala, viale dei Colli, via Santa Giuliana, via Torricelle, via Caroto, via Cipolla, via Barana, via Bassetti, via Torbido, viale dei Partigiani, Lungadige porta Vittoria, via Ponte Aleardi, via Pallone, Largo divisione Pasubio, piazza Cittadella, via Montanari, via del Minatore, circonvallazione Raggio di Sole, and Corso Porta Nuova.
The Giro del Veneto will be an opportunity to bring great cycling back to the roads of the 1999 and 2004 World Championships and to announce the naming of the circuit after Teofilo Sanson, an entrepreneur and great lover of cycling, who was the soul of those events.
The Giro del Veneto will also mark the farewell to professional cycling of Elia Viviani, the Veronese cyclist nicknamed "The Prophet": winner of three Olympic medals (gold in Rio and bronze in Tokyo in the Omnium, silver in Paris in the Americana), 5 stages at the Giro d'Italia, three at the Vuelta a España, and one at the Tour de France. He was the Italian road champion in 2018 and European champion in 2019 and has been on the podium eight times at the World Track Championships.
The Giro del Veneto is history, passion, and progress: an unmissable event for all cycling enthusiasts.
