Tre variazioni della vita

As the title of the work suggests, “Three Variations of Life” is the brilliant play written by Yasmina Reza, in which the same evening is recounted from three different points of view.

The protagonists are two couples of friends: astrophysicist Henri with his wife Sonia, a successful financial lawyer, and Professor Hubert Finidori with his wife Inès. What was supposed to be a quiet social aperitif takes an unexpected turn after a bombshell revelation. The social equilibrium inevitably fractures, and old grudges, rivalries, personal tensions, and unspoken truths surface, turning the evening into an emotional battlefield.

The originality and charm of the show lie precisely in its unique structure, that is, in the three different variants told by the protagonists. Each new version invites the audience to change perspective, upends the balance, and unveils unexpected sides of the story, making the narrative increasingly surprising. Yasmina Reza creates a clever theatrical game about perception, truth, and human relationships, blending irony, tension, and twists.
