Verona Mountain Film Festival

Great cultural tourism event for mountain cinema enthusiasts, aimed at promoting the environments of the so-called "High Lands of the World" and discovering them through exploration, climbing, and mountaineering.

The Festival, now in its 10th edition, brings together, in a single format, film screenings and related events linked to mountain culture: presentations, award ceremonies, artistic and musical performances, and photography projections.

The Festival, which is part of the “Spirit of the mountain” Circuit, takes place over five evenings: 92 films registered for this edition from 12 countries; 9 films selected and screened during the Festival evenings.

At the international level, a film competition is promoted open to directors and production companies from all over the world who have chosen the mountain, particularly mountaineering, exploration, and climbing, as the main subject of their works. A photography competition dedicated to the theme of the mountain is also promoted, aimed at both professional photographers and amateurs.

The event is organized by the Verona section of the Italian Alpine Club, with artistic direction by the Montagna Italia Association and support from the Municipality of Verona, the Giorgio Zanotto Foundation, and Magis.

The Montagna Italia Association was founded in 1996 with the aim of promoting mountain territory and its expressions, in order to support tourism, culture, and the environment, in Italy and abroad, organizing fairs, conferences, studies, shows, events, and reviews.
