The history of wine travels parallel to that of civilization, and the domestic vine (Vitis vinifera) has certainly intertwined with human culture since the Neolithic, or perhaps even long before.
Armenia is rightfully called the ancient cradle of winemaking thanks to archaeological studies that began in the early 2000s, revealing that these areas contained the world's earliest forms of wine production, dating back over six thousand years, in the Areni cave.
An apparently distant land, geographically speaking, but close to Italy due to a series of significant artistic, historical, religious, and culinary affinities that make a trip to Armenia a magical discovery and a flourishing cultural exchange.
