The National Archaeological Museum of Verona was inaugurated in February 2022.
It is housed within a former Austro-Hungarian prison, transformed from a closed and constraining place to a meeting and exchange space open to the community.
The museum showcases materials from the most significant recent excavations in the Verona area, within a pathway that unfolds into a series of subsections dedicated to the main prehistoric and protohistoric sites. A new section dedicated to the Roman era is under construction and will be inaugurated in 2024.
The museum is under the direction of the Regional Museum Directorate of Veneto, part of the Ministry of Culture, and the director is Dr. Giovanna Falezza.
