The Archaeological Museum at the Roman Theater came to life in 1924 within the walls of the former convent of the Gesuati of San Gerolamo, dating back to the late 15th century and located behind the Theater. It is situated in one of the most scenic areas of Verona, as well as being interesting from an archaeological standpoint. During the restoration work on the spaces in the 19th and early 20th centuries, some parts of the theater were uncovered: in particular, the void was found, excavated by the Romans in the hill to prevent water infiltration into the building.
