Afternoon hike on the outskirts of the city, starting from the ancient village of Quinzano. Even today, the village retains characteristics that make it one of the most picturesque in the area surrounding the center.
The destination is the ancient hermitage of San Rocchetto, a sacred building with simple architecture, consisting of a single room with three small semicircular apses preceded by a portico. The origins of this little church are very ancient, dating back to the Bronze Age, when a village was located at the summit of Mount Cavro.
Today, the area surrounding the hermitage is surrounded by olive trees and shrubs typical of Mediterranean vegetation, and the paths develop along routes that offer panoramic views of the plain and the first hills of Lessinia.
With the lights of the late afternoon, the view from the hermitage's olive grove is a sight not to be missed! During the hike, the cult and history of the Saint after whom the building is named will be discussed.
