Roots | Roots, craftsmanship & wine of Valpolicella

An intimate and hands-on experience in the heart of Classic Valpolicella, designed to rediscover an ancient craft of rural art: the weaving of rattan and the art of basket makers (the basket makers).

In the evocative setting of the La Marega winery, housed in a historic 16th-century building, participants guided by an experienced artisan will learn to work with rattan and will create with their own hands an elegant wicker bottle holder, starting from a wooden base and experimenting with traditional weaving techniques.
 
The workshop is an invitation to reclaim the gestural memory of the past, when the making of wicker was an essential knowledge for rural life, the harvest, and the transport of bottles and the products of the land.
