The only tour that takes you to discover the Roman origins of Verona, starting from its fascinating undergrounds. A journey through ancient remains and hidden places, featuring visits to 2 archaeological areas: Corte Sgarzerie and via San Cosimo.
This tour includes a guided visit to two underground archaeological areas located in the center of Verona, directly managed by Archeonaute.
Two different realities in a single itinerary to explore what remains, more than two thousand years later, of the most important and monumental public temple of the city, as well as the remains of the defensive walls with all their transformations, from the time of the Roman foundation to the Middle Ages. The visit takes place on foot, starting from one of the two areas to reach the last one.
Why choose the tour Underground Verona? It is not just a simple guided visit, but a true archaeological experience during which, descending into the underground together with the archaeologists who conducted the excavations, it will be possible to closely observe the ancient structures and understand them very clearly. This is a 360-degree archaeological tour of Verona, in which the three underground areas are linked together in a continuous narrative that gradually reveals the ancient face of the city and highlights its many facets. Starting from the story of the pre-Roman settlement, continuing with the account of the foundation of the Roman municipality with its monumental public buildings of strong political and religious significance, up to private building, without neglecting the road system and the relationship of the city with its river.
