A guided tour in augmented reality that allows you to explore the ancient city as it was two thousand years ago, while walking through today's Verona: an immersive and engaging experience between past and present, with history coming to life before your eyes.
This route includes a guided visit to seven points of interest located in the center of Verona, along what was the ancient layout of the Roman city.
Thanks to the use of advanced smart glasses in Augmented Reality, you will be able to see how some of the iconic places of ancient Verona looked two thousand years ago, now transformed or hidden by the modern urban fabric. The tour takes place on foot, accompanied by a specialized guide, and combines historical and archaeological narration with the suggestion of virtual reconstructions, to offer an engaging and educational experience. The route starts from Piazza delle Erbe, where today markets and medieval architectures coexist, but which was once the bustling center of the Roman city. Here stood the forum, the hub of civic life: commercial, legal, administrative, and religious. Thanks to AR technology (Augmented Reality), you will be able to observe the transformation of the space and compare the current square with the ancient forum, much larger and more scenic than one might imagine.
You will walk on Roman-paved streets, see the original shape and dimensions of the forum reemerge, the public buildings that surrounded it, and the Capitolium, the most important temple of ancient Verona. By wearing the smart glasses, you will explore its monumental structure and discover the symbolic and social significance of this building dedicated to the Capitoline triad.
