You start from Brognoligo and enter a landscape that is never just rural: houses, courtyards, villas, and vineyards are closely knit and tell the story of a countryside inhabited by two historically linked communities.
After the Church of Santo Stefano, a short detour would also lead to Villa Montanari Durlo, which developed around a tower from the late fourteenth century. Then the houses become sparse and the path descends towards the valley floor of the Alpone.
For a stretch, you follow the cycling and walking path along the stream, the smoothest and most relaxing section of the entire loop. Along the route, a mill appears, now private and only visible from the outside: a presence that evokes the agricultural life developed along the water.
At Costalunga, houses and vineyards again touch each other. Villa Buri-Tessari, now La Cappuccina, and the Oratory of San Giovanni Battista from 1725 tell of a countryside where dwelling, devotion, and agricultural ownership were one and the same system. The return leads back towards Brognoligo and the Grotta di Lourdes, built in the post-war period based on a project by Fra Claudio Granzotto.
