Panorami, boschi e grotte della Lessinia Orientale

Starting from Sant'Andrea di Badia Calavena and then leaving the village of Selva di Progno, we enter the splendid Valle del Covolo, along an ascent in the woods that will leave us speechless. Towards the peak, we reach the characteristic Cóvoli, a group of karst caves famous for the discovery of numerous artifacts, including those of the Cave Bear.  

We continue through the small agro-pastoral hamlets of Tezze and Crocelunga, where the inhabitants still live strongly connected to the land and livestock. It will feel like going back in time, to a moment when time stands still and gives way to slowness and the essential. 

The route descends into the valley of Progno, where the stream characterizes the splendid landscape. Among meadows, streams, and rural farmhouses, just before reaching the destination, one comes across an ancient hydroelectric power station, still inhabited by an elderly lady, who, if you are lucky, may tell you its story.
