A walk in the greenery to learn about and enhance the historical heritage of the city of Verona, 25 years after its recognition, with its defensive system and historic center, as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The itinerary begins at Porta Campofiore, home of the Provianda di Santa Marta, and ends at Castello San Felice, crossing the Wall's Park di Veronetta and the hill along the first stretch of the ecological corridor of the Torricelle. The path, just over 3 kilometers long, spans seven centuries of history of the walls of Verona, showcasing the defenses built by Cangrande della Scala (1324-1327), the rondelle added by the Republic of Venice in the 16th century, and the transformations made by the Habsburg army between 1830 and 1865.
Along the route, equipped with benches and informative signage integrated with the environment and digital QR codes, you can observe Porta Campofiore, the Provianda di Santa Marta, the Bastione delle Maddalene, Porta Vescovo, the Batteria di Scarpa, the Rondella di San Zeno in Monte, the Rondella della Grotta, and Castello San Felice.
The pedestrian route is promoted by the Municipality of Verona and the UNESCO Office of the Municipality of Verona, in collaboration with the Social Cooperative Reverse.
