Az. Agricola Franchetto

We are located in the province of Verona, at the foot of the Lessini Mountains. The Val d'Alpone has been preserving the history of this farm for generations. Here, one can still breathe in a peasant culture rich in traditions and ancient knowledge, where life is marked by the rhythm of nature and the seasons.

In this area, 45 million years ago, there were several very active volcanoes, and everything was covered by the warm waters of a tropical sea. Such particular conditions gave rise to soils primarily composed of basalts and black tuffs, rich in iron, magnesium, and many other microelements that are transferred to the wine through the grapes, giving it a distinctive mineral sapidity.

It is on these lands that the vines sink their roots, and it is from here that the family started producing wines that reflect this uniqueness.

To best interpret this territory, they decided to mainly work with Durella and Graganega – two native varieties that have deep roots in this valley, and here, they maximize their potential.

Their vineyards are primarily located in two areas of Val d'Alpone: in the hills of Terrossa, in the municipality of Roncà, and in the mountains of Vestenanova.
